Hi, my name is Dan, and I create websites. You could say that I build websites but that would be missing the point entirely. What I do is so much more than that to me. Allow me to explain.
A website starts it's long journey as a glinting twinkle in someone's eye, a spark of creativity that exists to solve a problem. Let's face it: people have problems, and what's more philanthropic than to solve them, right? Unfortunately the web is an ominous place. There's technological treachery at every turn, waiting to drive you to the brink of mental exhaustion. What you need is a guide, and that is where I come in.
As a website designer and developer, I have spent the last 5+ years toiling in the trenches of the internet and have emerged a seasoned veteran of many skirmishes. I began dabbling, as a hobbyist, with HTML when I was about 13. I spent many hours experimenting till I had a good knowledge of the language. That flourished into a side career as a part-time designer for various local bands and eventually I founded Embraced Design Collective in 2003. We achieved a modest amount of success for clients such as Blood & Ink Records, Harvest Earth Records, Tooth & Nail Records, Solid State Records, Facedown Records, and Sony BMG Australia and bands like War Of Ages, The Showdown, Thousand Foot Krutch, Newsboys, and Third Day.
I decided to take a break from Embraced Design Collective in early 2007 to focus some time to my personal life and furthering my skills. Now with a fresh new year, I'm back with a new attitude and an even greater desire to grow and create. I look forward to the challenges that this new year will present.
